Our Favorite Christmas Tree Farms

When you think of Christmas, what comes to mind? We think of reindeer, Santa, and of course, Christmas Trees! And while we love to fill our houses with KaBloom’s mini trees, we also never skimp on a fresh-cut full-sized one! Here in Massachusetts, we have so many good options to cut down your own tree, and get into the Christmas spirit while you’re at it! If you’re in the area, check out one of our favorite farms!

Smolak Farms in North Andover is a winter wonderland starting Black Friday, November 24th, when you can start cutting down that perfect tree, or just browse their selection of pre-cut trees. But make sure you get there early before they sell out! That’s not all, though! Smolak Farms offers many holiday-themed events, like gingerbread house workshops and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Just be aware that some of these events do require tickets and may sell out, so visit http://www.smolakfarms.com/christmas-activities for more information!

Down in Mendon, Vandervalk Farm and Winery also opens Back Friday to offer both choose-to-cut trees and pre-cut trees. If you need to warm up, head over to their holiday barn to see their selection of gifts and decorations. This place also offers a wide range of places where you can take pictures for your holiday card! Check out vandervalkfarm to make sure that you’re all set for your trip!

Crane Neck Tree Farm in West Newbury promises that you will enjoy their pre-cut and still-rooted trees, because both are from their farms on site! Starting the Friday after Thanksgiving, you can start selecting the perfect Christmas tree, but you can’t tag them, so make sure you make your choice and stick to it. Even more exciting is that they are opening a new location this year in New Hampshire, where you’ll be among the first to ever get to the selection they offer. Up in Stow, the perfectly named Mistletoe Christmas Tree Farm starts selling trees on Friday, November 24th. They will sell out of their choice choose-to-cut trees early, but will still have a wide variety of imported trees freshly cut just the week before. Free hot chocolate and candy canes mixed with rousing Christmas music makes this a fun destination! Visit http://www.mistletoechristmastreefarm.com for weekend hours and to figure out how to make this place a part of your Christmas tradition.

These are just a few options that the little state of Massachusetts has to offer! But, guess what? It doesn’t matter where you are! Visit http://www.pickyourownchristmastree.org or http://www.realchristmastrees.org/dnn/All-About-Trees/Tree-Locator to see where you can find a place to cut your own tree (or find an equally-beautiful pre-cut one) for the freshest Christmas experience possible! Just make sure you call the farms ahead of time to make sure they haven’t run out and closed for the season. But, with over 25 million fresh trees are sold in the country each year, we think you’ll find the perfect one! Stay tuned for updates!
