2018 is almost here, and we here at KaBloom are hard at work trying to make our New Year’s resolutions. It’s hard sometimes to make these grand resolutions, which sound great at the start, but sometimes they can become overwhelming. There’s nothing wrong with not being able to make such a huge change, but we figured that there’s another way that you can resolve to be a better you for the upcoming year. We wracked our brains and thought of many different little things in everyday life that can amount to a great change for the year!
The most important person to watch out for in the New Year is you, so start by making little changes to help elevate your mood. Studies show that you can boost your confidence by wearing more red. If you want to raise someone’s confidence, why not get them a lush bouquet of red Roses? Reflecting on past memories is also a great way to put yourself in good moods, whether you look through old photo albums or watch home movies. Recalling these experiences will be a great way to brighten your day. You can also think of ways to make more memorable experiences, which will create a sense of adventure and lift your mood. Instead of spending money on material goods, plan a vacation to a place you’ve never gone before, or take a trip somewhere you’ve wanted to go for a long time. Writing can also help positively affect your mood. Whether at the end of the day or when it happens, write down memorable moments from your day in a journal. But, sometimes something worrisome can be unavoidable, so it is a good time to write them down as well, that way you clear it out of your mind rather than storing it.
Life can be stressful, but there are little things you can do to help fight that! We live in a world too focused on doing as much as possible, and multitasking is a big factor in stress. Take a step back and focus on one task at a time. By finishing one at a time, it helps your focus and will also give you a greater sense of accomplishment rather than thinking of everything pressing. If you have a list of things to do, order them in levels of difficulty, that way you do the harder tasks and feel more relief after they are behind you. Scheduling is also an important thing. Sometimes, you might waste too much time on something, whether it is something as trivial as watching television, so if you set times to do things, then it will give you more time to do new and fun activities. Have you ever looked into essential oils? There are many derived from various flowers that are great to relieve tension, help with stress, and add a comforting fragrance to your life.
Small changes in your health can have a great impact on your New Year! One thing to focus on is your diet. An easy way to make a change is to snack healthier. Many people go for sweets for a snack, so try replacing it with fruit or something else with proven health benefits. Cutting out sugary drinks will help with weight loss, and eating at the table will combat overeating. Finding new ways to get moving everyday is also important. Stretching will help circulation. Consider walking somewhere rather than driving. If you live close to work, even if only once or twice a week, it will help. Being outside is also incredibly important to your health. Try taking a walk regularly, and count your steps. That way, the next time you go, you can try to beat your previous record! There are countless places, from botanical gardens to state parks, filled with nature to create a beautiful backdrop. Even gardening has a great effect on your health. Flowers and plants are proven to relieve stress and promote a healthy lifestyle, and it is a great way to get you outside. Plus, planting flowers is a great way to let your creativity flow!
Any of these can help improve your everyday in more ways than one. It’s time that we all work to be the best we can be, and hopefully some of these will help you along the way.
